Chair of Risk, Child Safeguarding & Assurance Committee

The PMSA (Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association) is a joint mission of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod, and the Presbyterian Church of Queensland. Established in 1918, the PMSA owns four distinguished Queensland schools: Brisbane Boys’ College, Clayfield College, Somerville House, and Sunshine Coast Grammar School.
  
We are seeking an outstanding Chair to provide sound judgement and stewardship of the Risk, Child Safeguarding and Assurance Committee and to champion the PMSA’s dedication to risk management, child safeguarding, and assurance practices. The Chair will guide productive and punctual discussions, leveraging the knowledge of committee members to maintain focus on strategic objectives.  Promoting a culture of risk awareness and management along with a collaborative approach to working with executive leaders in order to address relevant issues will be a key area of focus.
  
We anticipate that the successful candidate will have demonstrated executive-level experience in the field of risk, coupled with governance experience serving on a Risk Committee. The capacity to anticipate, identify and mitigate both strategic and operational risks along with the ability to develop, model and champion a culture of risk awareness and management will underpin your success. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to the PMSA’s Christian ethos, mission, vision, and values.
  
We anticipate that your executive or non-executive experience will have exposed you to the ‘for purpose’ sector and that this experience is coupled with formal governance qualifications (e.g, AICD, GIA or equivalent).
